School Community Newsletter 24/02/23

This week we’re going to be focusing on designing effective pupil premium strategies! Improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils is something that is very close to our hearts at Yes Futures, where we work to ensure that every young person on our programmes is empowered to achieve their personal potential.

Much like the way we design our own programmes, an effective pupil premium strategy is one that identifies the specific challenges that young people face; sets out coherent and SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound) objectives; selects appropriate and evidenced activities to achieve these objectives; and evaluates the impact of the chosen activities.

Whether you’re a school leader looking to write your next pupil premium strategy or a classroom teacher who wants to understand better how decisions around supporting your most disadvantaged students are arrived at, we hope these handy resources and articles are a good place to get started.
