In Their Hands
For over a decade, Yes Futures has worked with schools across the UK, using coaching to help young people build confidence, resilience and a sense of agency. In Their Hands brings that experience directly to families for the first time.
This is a 12-week personal development programme anchored in specialist youth coaching and inspirational experiences for young people aged 11-17. It is designed to support young people during periods of challenge or transition.
An inspirational programme of coaching and experiences to build confidence and resilience
The programme is built on a simple belief: young people grow most when they are trusted, supported and given real opportunities to take ownership of their lives.

Parents often explore this kind of support not because something is “wrong”, but because something feels unfinished. Their child is capable, thoughtful and full of potential, yet not always able to act with confidence, perspective or self-belief when it matters.
This isn't about fixing problems or pushing harder. It's about creating space for young people to step forward, supported by an experienced coach. The focus is on ownership, not outcomes or pressure—and that shapes everything that follows.
Why this approach, and why now?
For more than twelve years, Yes Futures has worked with more than 70 schools to support young people through periods of challenge, pressure and transition. Over that time, we’ve developed and refined a coaching model that helps young people build confidence, resilience and a sense of self not by being told what to do, but by learning to think and act for themselves.
Our coaches are carefully selected, highly experienced and passionate. They are trained to work with young people in ways that are supportive, boundaried and purposeful, and they are quality-assured throughout their work with us.

What we’ve learned is consistent: many young people grow when they have a trusted adult outside their immediate family, a clear structure, and opportunities to test themselves in the real world.

The programme experience
In Their Hands is a 12-week programme, running from late March 2026 to mid-June 2026.
Over 12 weeks, your young person will receive:
Structured, professional youth coaching with an experienced and specially matched Yes Futures coach
Four one-on-one coaching sessions, focused on real challenges and decision-making
An end-of-programme reflection, outlining what your child has been working on and how they have approached challenge and decision-making
Guided reflection across the programme
Two inspirational trip days which anchor learning in the real world
Across the 12 weeks, there's roughly one meaningful intervention every two weeks. This creates momentum without overload, giving space for learning to settle between challenges.
This creates the conditions for young people to test themselves, reflect, and begin to act with greater confidence and perspective.
The 3 key parts of the programme
Coaching
Coaching sessions are structured, purposeful and time-bound, with a clear beginning and end. They are designed to help young people think clearly about challenges they’re facing, notice patterns in how they respond, and practise making decisions for themselves.
Workplace experience
Young people spend time in an inspiring workplace hosted by one of our corporate partners. They meet adults doing a wide range of roles, work alongside others, and get a feel for environments that may be unfamiliar or feel out of reach. It's about helping them see they belong in spaces like this, understand how confidence is built, and recognise that feelings like impostor syndrome are common and manageable.
Into the wild
An outdoor programme built around a practical challenge. Young people undertake activities like caving, climbing, archery and canoeing. They're encouraged to try, fail safely, adapt and try again. The experience is memorable, grounding and often transformative. Young people discover they can cope with uncertainty and succeed without everything being comfortable or familiar.

School can be an overwhelming place at times, but Yes Futures gives you a bit of a breather and you can talk to your coach about anything. They teach you how to be more confident in your decisions and actions and develop your mindset.
Brooke, Year 10, Hemel Hempstead

The programme is delivered through regional hubs across London, Birmingham and Leeds. While cohorts are organised regionally for care and safeguarding, the experience for families is intentionally flexible and responsive.
The programme is designed with one outcome in mind: by the end of the programme, young people have a stronger sense of themselves. They're more confident handling challenges and change, and able to make decisions without needing certainty or comfort.
Coaching and experiences focus on resilience, self-awareness, confidence and communication. How these show up is shaped by each young person—whether that's responding to pressure, recovering from setbacks, communicating clearly, or making decisions without all the answers.
By the end, young people are better equipped to handle challenges and move forward with confidence and perspective.

The coaching sessions have been really helpful because they taught me about resilience and how to build my confidence. When I am facing challenges, I try to calm myself down and think rationally about them.

Is this right for your young person?
In Their Hands is designed for young people aged 11–17 who are capable, thoughtful, and open to trying something new—even if they're not always sure what they need.
They may be navigating pressure or transitions at school, educated outside traditional settings, or moving between different forms of learning. What matters isn't where they're educated, but whether they're ready to engage with support that asks them to reflect, try, and take responsibility for their own growth.
Time Commitment
The programme runs for 12 weeks from late March to mid-June 2026. During that time, young people take part in:
-
Four x 1-hour one-on-one coaching sessions, spaced across the programme
-
Two full-day in-person experiences delivered through regional hubs
-
Light reflection between sessions, supported by their coach.
There is roughly one session or event every two weeks, designed to create momentum without overload.
Cost
The cost of the programme for the 2026 pilot is £999.
This includes all four coaching sessions, both in-person experiences, supervision and safeguarding, ongoing programme oversight by the Yes Futures team and the reflection report at the end of the programme.
Please note that travel to and from in-person experiences is not included.
