Marshalls Park Assesses Risks at Centor Insurance and Risk Management for World of Work Day

On June 11th, Centor Insurance and Risk Management warmly welcomed our Rising Futures students from Marshalls Park Academy for their World of Work day.

For many of our students, this was their first time visiting a professional office setting. We were so thrilled that the students had the opportunity to see insurance professionals in action at this award-winning company.

The students were given a brief introduction about the insurance business by Paul Field, the company’s Claims and Support Director. The students were amazed by his presentation and loved learning about the various ways in which insurance played into their daily lives.

Then, the students participated in a Risk Assessment game. During the activity, the students were tasked with assessing the risk levels of different scenarios, from managing a world-famous singer to building a new vampire theme park! Our students demonstrated amazing communication and creativity skills as they collaborated to put together their proposals.

After lunch, the students were given the opportunity to ask the insurance professionals about their careers. During the speed-networking session, the students asked amazing questions, such as:

‘How does one become an insurance broker?’

‘How does one assess risks?’ and

‘’What are some of the daily tasks of an insurance broker?’

We loved seeing their confidence grow as they asked questions. The students were deeply engaged in the conversations and learned so much from these professionals!

All of the Yes Futures staff members are so incredibly proud of our Rising Futures students. They demonstrated amazing confidence, resilience, self-awareness, and communication skills during their time at the insurance company.

Thank you to Centor Insurance and Risk Management for a lovely World of Work day!
