Star Primary Students Become Bankers of the Future at Bó During Their World of Work Day

On 16th July, our Finding Futures students from Star Primary School were warmly welcomed by the staff at for an amazing World of Work Day. And what a fantastic day out we had; it did not disappoint!

After a short ride on the Jubilee line, we arrived in Central London and at the headquarters of Bó, a new digital banking platform. For many of our students, this was their first time visiting a professional office setting. We were so thrilled that the students had the opportunity to see banking professionals in action at an up-and-coming online banking company. The students learned about how banks operate, and the different types of currencies used today and throughout history. We even got to look at real money and compare it to counterfeit notes. What a truly unique and educational experience!

Later, we visited the company’s marketing department team. It was amazing seeing everyone at work and the students were able to get a better understanding of how this modern online bank looks after its customers. The students were given the opportunity to operate a chat platform, which the company uses to help its customers online. The students also learned about how Bó advertises their services to the public with things like branded packed lunch boxes.

Afterwards, it was time for some speed-networking. The students had the opportunity to talk one at a time with different people from the Bó work force. We met everyone from Marketers to Designers to Project Managers. The students asked insightful questions and we loved seeing their confidence grow as time passed! The employees spoke to us about their various roles in the bank and how we could one day follow in their footsteps! One student asked about possibly pursuing a career at Bó!

After lunch, the students participated in an activity where they had to design their own banking app interfaces. The pupils worked in teams and showed off their creative skills. When it came to presenting their designs to the employees at Bó, the pupils' talents shone through! They demonstrated fantastic communication skills and their impressive ideas blew away the ‘judges’.

By 2 o'clock, it was time to go back to school. We had an amazing time at Bó and so did the staff members! One employee from Bó said that, “It was so great to meet all the wonderful children yesterday! It was definitely an enriching experience for everyone here.”

Yes Futures is so proud of our Finding Futures students from Star Primary School. They demonstrated amazing confidence, resilience, self-awareness, and communication skills during their time at Bó.

Thank you to Bó for a lovely World of Work Day!
