Homework has its positives and negatives but the topic often comes up because it can sometimes be hard to determine its effectiveness.
The Education Endowment Foundation found that whilst many disadvantaged students benefit from homework, many lack quiet working spaces away from school where they can undertake independent study. Many schools have as a result established homework clubs for students who may not have the resources at home to study.
